The U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed that a 2.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Maine at 5:23 a.m. Thursday, and that its epicenter was in Brooksville. The depth of the earthquake was 2.9 miles. According to the USGS, the epicenter was located near the end of Pola Road, off Route 176, which is also known as Coastal Road. Brooksville is about 10 miles from Searsport, 13 miles from Bucksport and 14 miles.
